Short description
Scientific Use File Insurance Biographies and Divorce - Pension Equalisation and Divorce (Versichertenkontenstichprobe - Versorgungsausgleich und Ehescheidung) (SUF.VSKT.VA):
The longitudinal data set SUF.VSKT.VA is based on the insurance accounts sample (Versichertenkontenstichprobe) (§ 1 RSVwV section 2, SK79), which comprises a stratified panel of around 500,000 cases of insured persons aged between 15 and 67. The population is made up of German insured persons living in Germany who are aged between 57 and 67 in the reporting year. It is a complete sample of the population.
The social employment situation of an insured person is mapped on a monthly basis, as well as for example information on illness, unemployment, child-raising and earnings. The monthly data is organised as a cross-section based on lifetime (January of the 14th to December of the 65th year of life). The biography-related part is flanked by the fixed part, which, in addition to demographic data, provides various totals and average information describing the insured person's pension entitlement. In the case of divorces, the pension equalisation (“Versorgungsausgleich”) statistics provide data on the start and end of the first two divorced marriages, the total number of pension equalisation proceedings and the changes in entitlements per pension equalisation case.
