Scientific Use File Insurance Accounts Sample (Versichertenkontenstichprobe) (SUF.VSKT):

The longitudinal data set SUF.VSKT is based on the insurance accounts sample (§ 1 RSVwV section 2, SK79), which comprises a 2 per cent random sample of insured persons aged between 15 and 70. The population of the SUF.VSKT consists of German insured persons living in Germany who are between 30 and 67 years old in the reporting year. The size of the random sub-sample is 25 per cent.

The social employment situation of an insured person is mapped on a monthly basis, as well as for example information on illness, unemployment, child-rearing and earnings. The monthly data is organised as a cross-section over a lifetime (January of the 14th to December of the 65th year of life). The biography-related part is flanked by the fixed part, which, in addition to demographic data, provides various totals and average information describing the insured person's pension entitlement. In the case of divorces, information on pension equalisation (“Versorgungsausgleich”) is also included.
